Day of Silence
On April 20, 2012, Bridges United students will be participating in Day of Silence.
Day of Silence is a student-led action to raise awareness of the bullying, harassment and intimidation - in effect, the silencing that students face daily. On the Day of Silence, students across the country take a vow of silence and distribute “speaking cards” explaining their participation.
We hope that you and the rest of administration will join Bridges United and support our SILENCE from period 1 through 4 and their BREAK THE SILENCE discussion held during lunch in room 13. Day of Silence is an opportunity for students to take the initiative to teach one another about difference, respect and safety for all students.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns about the day’s events or how you can get involved please feel free to contact me Seema Bhakta, Human Relations Specialist, at 714-567-7323 or at seema@ochumanrelations.org or you can contact Nancy Curtis.
